COWBOYS and cowgirls spread the word that your donations are wanted at a charity shop this week.
Shop workers at Sue Ryder charity shop in Stockton town centre got dressed up as Wild West figures as part of a campaign to increase donations.
A rebranding campaign titled Wanted is being piloted in the area in an effort to encourage more people to give donations to the charity’s shops.
Natalie Mallon, shop manager, said: “We’ve got new posters and signs on the vans with the word Wanted and we just thought, ‘what can we do to hammer home the message?’ and came up with the Wild West idea. People have been coming in and saying, ‘ooh, what’s this all about,’ which is helping to spread the word.
“It’s a bit difficult for us because people can’t park outside the shop and walk in with donations. We have donation baskets around the town at the college and places like that. We also have vans and we’d love anyone who can give to give us a call. People are getting £5 for a bag of rags but we’d be able to raise so much more for a great cause. Also we take furniture.”
The Sue Ryder charity helps people who need care in their own homes. The shop can be contacted on 01642 603010.
