FATHER Christmas met with a Teesside DJ in a good cause today. (Monday, December 10).
Santa met TFM Radio’s Wayne Allen in Stockton to help promote a fundraising event for The George Hardwick Foundation, which helps children with complex needs.
Father Christmas will be spinning a Wheel of Fortune on Saturday, December 15 and Saturday, December 22 at 1pm at Wellington Square in the town to raise money for the charity.
Shoppers will have the chance to win shopping vouchers worth £50 and there is a total prize fund of £1,500. Each spin will cost £1 and every penny will go to the foundation which is named after the former Middlesbrough FC and England football legend.
Ingrid Brough-Williams, from The George Hardwick Foundation, explained the charity gave support to carers.
She said: “We help to care for the carers by providing specialist one-to-one advice and information. We would also like to create a learning room for children with complex needs at George’s Place, based here in our centre at Wellington Square, so it’s great to see Santa and Wayne helping us this Christmas.”
Wayne Allen said: “I know The George Hardwick Foundation very well. It’s almost one of the best-kept secrets around, but it does some absolutely amazing work and helps so many people on Teesside.”
