BIKES NEEDED: Staff at The Hub in Stockton are asking for donations of unwanted children’s bikes in the run up to Christmas. They will fix or clean the donated bikes and distribute them to local charities and organisations to be given as presents. People can drop off bikes at The Hub on Bridge Road, anytime between 7.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. For more details call 01642-803441.

FESTIVE MARKET: Egglescliffe School's PTA Christmas market will be held at the school on Urlay Nook Road, on Sunday, November 11 from 1pm to 4pm. There will be more than 30 stalls selling a range of products including jewellery, crafts and beauty products. There is a £1 entry fee and under-16s are free.

COLLECTION TIME: The CLIC Sargent appeal in holding a Big Bucket Collection at Lidl in Wellington Square, Stockton, on December 7 and 8. The collection is held as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

ROUNDABOUT CLOSURE: DRIVERS are being warned that the Burn Valley Roundabout in Hartlepool will be closed to traffic over the next three Sundays, November 4, 11 and 18 as work continues on a major improvement scheme. The temporary closures will be in operation from 6am to about 8pm and signposted diversions will be in place.

KNITTED TOYS: A Christmas Craft Fair in aid of the MS Therapy Centre will take place in St Nicholas Parish Hall, Bow Street, Guisborough, on Saturday, November 10 from 10am to 3pm. There will be a variety of stalls selling goods as well as a tombola and refreshments.

CANCER MEETING: The Rainbow Gynaecological and Ovarian Cancer Group meets on the first Friday of the month at the Trinity Church, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, from 11am until 1pm.

QUIZ NIGHT: A quiz night in aid of Children in Need will be held at the Blytheholme Social Club, Yarm Road, Stockton, on Thursday, November 8. A children’s quiz, costing £1 per team, starts at 7.30pm and an adult quiz, costing £2 per team, starts at 9pm.
