POLICE have arrested a teenager in connection with a high-speed car chase.
Officers identified a black Mazda as a possible stolen vehicle at Norton, Stockton at about 4.30pm on Monday, October 29.
As they approached the driver of the Mazda drove off at speed.
The police officers gave chase and pursued it along Darlington Lane, Norton Avenue, onto the A1027 under the blue railway bridge.
The car then continued along several other streets until it got to Rothbery Avenue, where it collided with a bollard, causing damage to the area and the vehicle.
However the driver continued and only stopped when it got onto Pine Street.
A 17-year-old boy was then arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, burglary and criminal damage and remains in police custody.
A parked car on Norton Avenue and two parked cars on Pine Street were damaged during the pursuit, which officers believe was caused by the Mazda.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Greg Hodgson on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
