READING REWARD: Young bookworms in Hartlepool will be rewarded for a summer spent reading, this week. Children who took part in a Summer Reading Challenge run by Hartlepool’s libraries will receive a special medal and certificate from local councillors at events held at the town’s libraries on Tuesday and Wednesday.

LIBRARY OFFER: Free e-books are on offer as the Middlesbrough Digital Library prepares to celebrate its first birthday on Halloween. Four e-books or audio books can be downloaded free for 21 days from middlesbrough.lib.overdrive.com. You must have a library card and pin number in order to access the digital library.

ELECTION QUESTIONS: The Labour Party in Middlesbrough is asking the public to complete a survey on what they want to see in an MP ahead of the town’s upcoming by-election. They also want to know what issues concern local residents the most, as well as what residents think of the Tory-led government. Visit borolabour.org.uk/60-second-survey to fill out the survey.
