WINTER CLOSURE: Middlesbrough's Captain Cook Birthplace Museum will close for the winter from Monday November 5. It will re-open at the end of March. Nana Tom’s Cafe and the public toilets will remain open through the winter. New opening times for the town’s Dorman Museum have also been announced. From Tuesday November 6, it will open daily Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30am-4.30pm.

SPORT SURVEY: Hartlepool Council is seeking the views of local people on sport and recreation services in the town. They are asking the public to participate in a survey designed to improve services currently on offer. ZOO SESSIONS: Children can find out about dangerous and deadly creatures at Zoolab! sessions taking place at Middlesbrough’s Berwick Hills and Acklam libraries. The events are suitable for five to 12-year-olds and take place on Friday November 2, from 1.30pm-2.30pm at Berwick Hills Library and 3.30pm-4.30pm at Acklam Library.
