VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help prepare some new allotment sites across Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough Environment City is looking for people to work alongside Big Dig volunteer co-ordinator Mark Quinn.
Those taking part will pick up the confidence and skills to enable them to take on an allotment when one becomes available.
Anyone who would like to find out more is invited to an open day from 10am to 2pm on Monday, October 29 at the People’s Park between 36 and 38 Acklam Road.
Visitors can find out about taking on and running an allotment. Children can enjoy making bats and spiders and other garden-related crafts while the grown-ups get the low-down on allotment life. For more details call (01642) 243183.
