MISSING MAN FOUND: Police say a missing man from Castleton, near Whitby, has been found. Ian Kitchen, 42, had not been seen since 6pm on Thursday at the Tesco Express in Burniston Road, Scarborough. There was growing concern for his welfare, but he was found safe and well at Castleton on Saturday afternoon.

CARE HOME FETE: Mount Vale Care Home, in Northallerton, is holding a Christmas fete on the afternoon of December 1, between 1pm and 4pm. There will be face painting, craft stalls, cakes, tombola and children’s entertainment and Santa and a raffle. The care home is currently raising money for a sensory room.

VIC REEVES WONDERLAND: Organisers of Illuminating York have advised people to book in advance. Comedian Vic Reeves has been the creative force behind this year’s festival. Entitled the Vic Reeves Wonderland, the light display runs from October 31 until November 3 in the city’s Museum Gardens. This is the first year Illuminating York has been a ticket event.
