POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for the public to help find a missing vulnerable man.

Ian Kitchen, 42, of Castleton, near Whitby, has not been seen since around 6pm on Thursday, October 18, at Tesco Express, Burniston Road, Scarborough. He is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall with a stocky build and short dark brown hair.

When Mr Kitchen was last seen he was wearing a black hooded top, a green fisherman’s style waistcoat and black trousers. He was also carrying a green and brown backpack.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for Mr Kitchen’s welfare as he has health issues and does not have his essential medication with him.

Although officers do not believe that he is a danger to the public, anyone who sees him should not approach him but instead should call the police immediately.

Although his whereabouts are unknown, Mr Kitchen does have links in the Castleton and Hinderwell areas near Whitby.

Inspector Martin Dennison: said: “Ian, if you see or hear this appeal, I urge you to contact the police straight away so that we can confirm you are safe and well.”

Anyone who can help to locate Mr Kitchen should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
