A VOLUNTARY service organisation in Northallerton has been presented with an award which recognises work to help local charities, and voluntary and community groups.
Northallerton and District Voluntary Service Association is one of 67 organisations across the country to have been awarded the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action Quality Award.
Hazel Kirby, manager of Northallerton and District Voluntary Service Association, said “We are delighted to have gained this award.
“The assessment involved providing a huge amount of evidence, along with interviews with statutory and voluntary organisations.
“Our staff and volunteers have worked extremely hard to support local groups across Hambleton and this award recognises their enthusiasm and commitment.”
Last year the association supported 142 local groups and charities with funding advice, help with accounts and many other aspects of running a voluntary organisation.
