A CITIZENS Advice Bureau is taking part in a national campaign to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to.

Big Energy Saving Week takes place from Monday, October 22 to Saturday, October 27, and Hambleton and Richmondshire Citizens Advice Bureau will be holding an event in Tesco, Catterick Garrison between 11am and 4pm everyday between Monday and Thursday of that week.

Advisers will help people check they are getting the best deal from their energy company and are on the cheapest payment method, and explaining how they might be able to save more money by switching suppliers.

They will also be giving energy saving tips and talking about help available to insulate your home.

Dennis Ramsey, interim bureau manager, said: “More and more people are coming to us for advice on how to spend less on their fuel bills. “While we continue to help people on a daily basis with face to face and online advice – there is a real need to reach out to more people who are struggling and Big Energy Saving Week will be a chance to do that.”

Big Energy Saving Week is funded by the big six energy companies and supported by consumer groups, the Government and Ofgem.
