DETECTIVES are investigating after burglars assaulted a 23-year-old householder, leaving him needing hospital treatment.
Two men broken into a flat in Gisburn Avenue, Acomb, York, at about 7.30pm, on Tuesday.
The householder was hit with as metal implement and was admitted to York District Hospital.
His injuries are not life-threatening.
Two men, aged 21 and 23, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Detective Constable Fionna McEwan, of York CID, said: “I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man running along Front Street in the direction of Pateley Place between 7.30pm and 8pm.”
