THREE generations of a family have helped raise nearly £4,000 for a charity which promotes research into a deadly disease.
Claire Baker and her daughters Grace and Millie ran a charity evening and a family fun day with her mother, Jo Sanderson, to honour the memory of former Romanby parish councillor Harold Bartram.
Mr Bartram, a former manager of Maxwells in Northallerton, died in May aged 81, 19 months after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
His partner, Mrs Sanderson, of Romanby, said she was delighted with the amount raised through the events at The Watermill, Carlton Miniott for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which funds research and provides support for people with the condition.
She said: “It is a very difficult disease - we would like more people to be aware of it. Harold was a very athletic, upright man, which made it more difficult for him.”
