CHEFS from one of the Yorkshire Dales’ oldest inns are cooking up a hairy fundraising effort as part of an annual campaign to help raise awareness for male health charities.
Craig Keenan, John Barley, Graeme Moss and Kristian Jurkiewilz, who are all chefs at the Wensleydale Heifer, in West Witton, have been growing moustaches throughout the month of November to help raise funds for the Movember charity, which helps raise awareness for men’s health and prostate cancer.
Staff members will be donating all their tips for one night, which will be matched pound for pound by the pub. There will also be charity collection boxes placed throughout the hotel for the rest of the month of November.
David Moss, the pub’s owner, said: “As well as being good fun, we are pleased to play our small part in Movember by highlighting men’s health.
“It affects many lives and we are proud to have the opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause which goes towards fighting to combat prostate cancer.
“Alongside donating the night’s tips direct to the charity we hope to raise as much as possible within the hotel.”
