SCHOOLBOY rugby players have one eye on the ball and another on a bright future after impressing selectors.
Northallerton College 15-year-olds Tom Burridge, of West Rounton, Jordan Warren, of Northallerton and George Easton, of Morton-on-Swale, will now compete on a higher stage after playing well at local trials in Thirsk.
Tom, who plays No6, will play for Yorkshire and hopes to make it into the North of England squad.
Tight head prop George and second row forward Jordan will battle it out in area contests in Hambleton and Richmondshire.
George said: "I would love to play professionally one day for Newcastle Falcons and England, so being selected is a crucial first step."
Head of sport Anna Harvey said: "Rugby was once the preserve of independent schools but not any more and the college is now discovering and developing some of the region’s best players and future stars of the game."
