TEA and cake have been raising funds for military personnel at RAF Leeming.
The air force base held a Big Brew Up event recently, where cakes, coffee and tea were served to raise money for the Soldiers Sailors Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).
Big Brew Up events are currently taking place at military bases all over the country to raise money for the SSAFA, a military charity that helps those serving in the armed forces and their families.
Leeming Hive Information Officer Anne Trotter co-ordinated the event. She said: “This is the first time I have been involved with organising the Big Brew and I am overwhelmed by the cheerful and generous attitude of all the people here at Leeming that were willing to be part of the event.
“The cake bakers produced some amazing cakes and there was an abundance of volunteers to help on the day.”
A total of £560 was raised for the charity.
