A CHARITY is looking for an adult golfer to help organise the early round of a junior golf championship.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is hoping to raise £70,000 with its Junior Golf Championship, which is aimed at golfers aged between 11 and 18, from across North Yorkshire.
Junior golf co-ordinators will be required to organise a qualifying round during spring 2012 at a local golf venue, as well as promoting the heat to young golfers in the area through schools and golf clubs.
Support will be provided by a local BHF representative.
Carl Jones, Junior Golf 2012 project manager, said: “This year, Junior Golf 2012 is looking more exciting than ever before but we desperately need more qualifying rounds across the region.
“By volunteering your time as a junior golf co-ordinator, you’ll be helping the British Heart Foundation continue with its pioneering work. We’d like to encourage golf enthusiasts across North Yorkshire to support this fantastic competition that enables young golfers to enjoy the sport while raising life-saving funds in the fight against heart disease.”
The winners and top fundraisers from each round will compete for prizes in the grand final, held at Close House, in Newcastle.
