A FUNDRAISER whose father suffers from Parkinson’s disease has raised £7,000 for research into the condition.
Ian Watkinson, of Thirsk, said an auction of promises and live music evening at Sessay village hall raised £2,495 for the Parkinson’s UK charity.
The joiner, whose father Brian, 68, of Leeming Bar, has suffered from the condition for eight years, said funds from the evening would be added to those raised through a Lands End to John O’Groats cycle ride earlier this summer.
Mr Watkinson, 33, who was joined on the 12-day ride by Chris Brown, 65, and Tony Ault, 60, thanked everyone who had supported the fundraising events.
