POLICE have turned to the public for help after a burglary in which distinctive power tools were taken.
A chainsaw, power saw and strimmer, all made by Stihl and orange in white in colour were taken from an outbuilding of a home on Aireyholme Lane, Great Ayton.
The raid took place sometime between September 21 and October 7 and the saws were marked with a postcode and the word “Phalp” - and each of the tools was valued at £750.
PC Nick Hill said: “The tools which have been stolen are easily identifiable as the owner has marked them with a postcode and name, as well as making a note of the make model and serial number of each item. This will be of great help when the items are recovered.
“I would suggest that everyone who owns tools stored in outbuildings takes similar measures, if they have not already done so.”
He added: “You can also register property at immobilise.com.”
Anyone with information - or who has been offered the tools - should contact police on 0845 6060 247 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
