A CHARITY for young adults with learning difficulties have reached the half way point in their fundraising drive to make their headquarters a more eco-friendly place. Just the Job, which gives job opportunities and experience to young people who might otherwise struggle to find work, is aiming to raise £5,000 for its new site on the Gallowfields Trading Estate, in Richmond. So far the group has raised £2,670 thanks to donations from the families of some of the young people who use the service, as well as donations from the Richmond Meet, the Richmond Society of Fellmongers and the Jack Brunton Trust. Further funds also came from Just the Job supervisor Andy D’Arcy, who completed the Leeds Marathon. Julie D’Arcy, the charity’s manager, said: “We are most grateful to our supporters and while we must continue to actively seek donations to meet the target, we feel sufficiently confident that in view of the level of fund-raising so far, the insulation work can begin. “While the Meet specified that their donation was towards a wood-burning stove, our first priority is to insulate the roof. The stove will be installed after that.”
