SIX new leaflets describing themed walks in and around the ancient city of Ripon have been published.
They have been put together by Ripon Civic Society and the Ripon Ramblers and are available, at 50p each, from the local tourist information centre an other outlets.
Three of the walks follow routes around the city - the Hornblowers Walk, which introduces Ripon's snickets and ginnels; the Mayors Walk, linking the three Law and Order Museums; and the Millers Walk, which follows the River Skell through the city.
The other leaflets take walkers further afield. The Navigators Walk follows Ripon Canal and returns through Littlethorpe; Fishermens Walk links the Rivers Ure and Skell and Monks Walk goes to Fountains Abbey, with two shorter routes also described.
Each of the walks provides a full route description, an outline map and colour photographs, and gives details of how much of the route is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
