GOLF DAY: The Disabled Golf Society is holding an open day at Thirsk and Northallerton Golf Club, in Thornton-le-Street, near Thirsk, on Tuesday, July 12, at 9.30am, to encourage disabled people of the therapeutic benefits of the sport. The event is open to all disabled people and costs £30 per person, including tuition from a professional golfer, 18 holes, buggy hire and lunch. For more information, visit disabledgolfsociety.com
CHARITY DAY: Mill Hill School, in Northallerton, will hold a textile collection in aid of the charity Bag2School, on Friday, July 8. The children are each given a recycling bag to collect clothes, soft toys, belts, bags and bedding. The bags are then weighed and money is given for the donated bags. To boost fundraising, a non-uniform day is being held on Friday. Children will be able to wear their own clothes in return for a donation.
SUMMER SCHOOL: A performing arts summer school will be held at Allertonshire School from July 25 to 29. The school will be based on the musical ‘Fame’. The five-day course, which is being run by the AJ Academy of Performing Arts, costs £50 per student. The closing date for entries is July 15. For more information, visit aj-academy.com
