AN elderly couple who have been plagued by anti-social behaviour have offered a reward to help catch those responsible.
The couple, who are in their seventies and do not wish to be identified, have had eggs thrown at the windows of their house on Throxenby Lane, in Newby, near Scarborough, in North Yorkshire, and also had their front hedge ripped up.
A fence has also been damaged and police said the incidents are causing the couple a lot of stress and concern.
They are willing to offer £100 to anyone who can provide North Yorkshire Police with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible.
Police are investigating the incidents and officers are appealing for anyone who regularly uses Throxenby Lane, to contact them if they have seen anything suspicious.
PC Leanne Wilson, of Scarborough police, said: "Nobody should have to put up with anti-social behaviour and be intimidated in their own home.
"This is an elderly couple who do not know why they are being targeted and are very concerned by what has been happening to them.
"I am appealing to people to come forward with any information which can help us identify who is responsible for this appalling behaviour.
"I would hope that the suffering of the victims will prompt people to share any information they have with us."
