TALENTED students opened the college doors for an evening of entertainment showcasing their skills to the community.
Northallerton College students staged an evening drama for family and friends.
Year 12 students in drama and theatre studies performed ‘Grimm Tales’, a version adapted from original stories by the Brothers Grimm by Carol Ann Duffy.
The dramatic performance, which was staged in a woodland set, tells the story of a group of workers and campers who become lost in a clearing and how they pass their time.
Head of drama studies Neil Stimson said: "The idea was that students would tell the stories with limited resources, which really tested their skills through the magic of narrative.
"They also had a different stage set where they were surrounded by the audience at every angle so people watching didn’t miss anything."
Also testing their skills was the presence of an external examiner as the students were performing as part of their A Level qualification.
Student Jessica Wallace, 17, of Northallerton, said: "It was quite scary as it was our exam piece and the audience were able to see everything."
The students performed their version of Hansel and Gretel, Ashputtel, Little Red Cap, The Hare and the Hedgehog and Rumplestiltskin.
Mr Stimson said: "A lot of hard work went into this but gave them a chance to really show off their skills in voice, movement, characterisation and performance."
