AN INDEPENDANT film about the moor land landscape of North Yorkshire will be screened at the end of the month.
Dawn to Dusk, made by Nicholas Turner will be shown at The Moors National Park Centre in Danby.
The film depicts the world and philosophy of 70-year-old landscape artist Peter Hicks as he meditates on the beauty of the North York Moors National Park from dawn to dusk.
Mr Hicks, who lives in Danby, North Yorkshire, works in a variety of media to create sweeping landscapes of the moors in all seasons and weathers.
In the film the artist narrates throughout as he explains his philosophy and how he overcame the daily difficulties in creating his art.
The film-maker also grew up in Danby and is now a London-based independent editor, filmmaker and musician.
He said: "What interests me is exploring where our creativity comes from, how an artist begins with a blank canvas and then sets about creating something beautiful and unique.
"I wanted to document the process of a work of art from the first moment until the last, something which I haven’t seen done in a feature film before - at least not in an interesting way.
"Ultimately, I believe the film will appeal to anyone who enjoys beautiful landscape. But it will especially be of interest to people who are creative in any field of art. The topics Peter discusses here are equally as relevant to me as a musician and filmmaker as they might for a painter or sculptor."
The screening is on June 26 at 2pm and will be accompanied by a Q&A with both Peter Hicks and Nicholas Turner.
Tickets cost £5 and are available by calling 01439-772738.
