THREE new faces have been appointed to a national park authority following the local council elections.
Bob Gale, Ian McPherson and Malcolm Gardner will take their positions at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority after being appointed by their respective district councils.
Mr Gale replaces Yvonne Peacock, who joined the authority as a Richmondshire District Council appointment in 2003.
Mr Gale, who lives in Arkengathdale, is a board member for the Hudson House Community Centre, in Reeth, and has been a member of Arkengarthdale Parish Council for 12 years.
Malcolm Gardner replaces Raymond Alderson, who was district councillor for Swaledale until the elections.
Mr Gardner lives in Healaugh and is a director and chairman of Hudson House. He is also involved with Reeth Agricultural Show.
Ian McPherson represents the Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale ward on South Lakeland District Council.
Carl Lis, the YDNPA’s chairman, said: "I would like to thank all the outgoing members for their hard work, enthusiasm and dedication.
"At the same time, I would like to welcome our three newest recruits and hope they will enjoy their time with us."
