POLICE are warning car owners to be on their guard after a spate of unusual thefts.
Six cars were targeted in Harrogate and Knaresborough, in North Yorkshire, on Saturday night, with the thieves making off with items including steering wheels, air bags and sat nav systems.
Sergeant Penny Taylor, of Harrogate Police, said such thefts were very strange.
She said: "These are quite unusual items to steal. Usually thieves go for property that’s easy to remove quite quickly, like CDs.
"It looks like it could be an organised gang that is stealing to order."
All of the thefts from vehicles happened overnight on Saturday, May 28.
A number of high end cars, including Mercedes, Porsches, Audis and a Golf were all targeted.
Three of the cars were on Kent Road and Hereford Road, in the Duchy area of Harrogate. One was in Florin Drive in Knaresborough, the other in Sterling Close.
Sgt Taylor is warning car owners to be on their guard and is asking people to report any suspicious behaviour to the police.
Anyone with any information about the above thefts is asked to call Harrogate Police on 0845-60-60-247.
