A ELDERLY woman who was injured by a hit and run motorcyclist while out walking has been released from hospital.
The 75-year-old, who has not been named, was crossing the B1257 Helmsley to Stokesley road, near the Clay Bank car park, in North Yorkshire, at about 5.20pm, on Sunday.
She was hit by a motorcyclist who is said to have stopped briefly, but left without trying to help.
The woman was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, where her condition was initially described as serious.
She has since made a good recovery from her injuries and was released from hospital on Monday.
The woman, from Warwickshire, was walking the Cleveland Way when she was hit by a large capacity sports bike, possibly a Honda.
The biker and a fellow motorcyclist stopped a short way up the road from the collision but failed to return to the scene Police are still appealing for either of the two motorcyclists involved in the collision to come forward, or for anyone else who witnessed the collision to contact them.
