THE library service in North Yorkshire is urging families to get on board for the Bookstart storytime celebrations from June 6 to 12.
More than 40 transport and journey-themed events, storytelling, singing and rhyming sessions will be taking place across the county in libraries and children's centres for this year's "All Aboard" National Bookstart Week .
Bookstart aims to help every child under five to develop a lifelong love of books, offering families the chance to discover their joys together.
The county council’s executive member for libraries, Coun Chris Metcalfe, said: “Reading and the love of books is a necessary skill and a lifelong pleasure. Bookstart has proved highly successful in giving children the best start possible on their reading journey.“ Further information is available at local libraries.
