A TOURISM body has appointed a new chairwoman and is seeking more members.
Jessica Sherriff has taken over from Yvonne Rose as chairwoman of the Bedale Chamber of Trade and Tourism.
Ms Sherriff, who runs Aiskew-based Jessica Jewellery Design, has already overseen a number of changes, including a new logo for the group, as well as benefits for members.
She said: "We want to support and improve all types of local business in and around Bedale, any business is welcome.
"We are keen to have as many local businesses involved and urge anyone interested to get in touch for more information.
"The annual fee is only £30 and this goes to support local chamber organised events.
"Chamber meetings are held once a quarter, here you can help make decisions and input any ideas you may have."
Benefits on offer for new members include:
* Discounts on tickets/stall/stand prices for Chamber organised events;
* E-mail information about upcoming business/tourism seminars in the area;
* Regular E- Newsletters on local business news and Bedale issues;
* Being able to list events on the bedale.org website.
The next big event planned by the chamber is the Bedale Bank Holiday Gala, on Monday, August 29.
Taking place at Bedale Hall and park this is a free family day out, which aims to promote the best of Bedale.
