THE public are being urged top hep an inquiry into a road rage incident which left a female motorist terrified.

The woman was driving a red Mini Cooper when she just managed to avoid a collision with a Citroen van o the A19/A64 Fulford roundabout near York.

But following the near-miss, at around 8am on Tuesday, the driver of the van got out of his vehicle and began verbally abusing the woman who, fearing she was about to be attacked, drove off towards York.

PC Cheryl Hunter said: “This was obviously a frightening experience for the victim who genuinely feared she was going to be attacked.

“The incident occurred at a time when there is usually quite a lot of traffic travelling in and out of York, therefore it may be possible that someone witnessed the incident.”
