A FARM more known for hosting relaxed music festivals is to hold a black tie dinner in aid of charity.
Diners are asked to leave their wellies at home for the CornShed Gourmet Evening on June 11, which will be held in a winter wheat store at Sexhow Park Farm, near Hutton Rudby, in North Yorkshire.
The four course dinner will be prepared by local chef Matty Brown, of the Bay Horse, in Hutton Rudby and each course will be served with a wine specially chosen by expert Peter Chandler.
The evening will have musical accompaniment by The Pocket Orchestra Function Band.
Tickets cost £75 each, with all profits going to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
Organiser Judy Kitching has been running charity events at the farm since 1986, prompted by the tragic death of her husband Jim in an accident on the farm.
In the 25th anniversary year of organising CornShed events, Mrs Kitching is also running a music festival on July 8 and 9, and a fashion show on September 24, with proceeds from all events being donated to GNAAS.
She said the gourmet evening had grown in scale since the idea was conceived, with 200 guests now expected to attend.
"We had originally planned to hold a wine tasting, and now we are holding a full-blown black tie dinner," she said.
"But we are sure everyone who attends will have an evening of great eating and entertainment in the CornShed."
The event starts at 7pm and will also include an auction, with Mrs Kitching still on the hunt for lots to sell off for charity.
