STAFF and customers have celebrated the 35th anniversary of Richmond Swimming Pool.
More than 500 people enjoyed a day of free activities on Sunday to celebrate the milestone, including aqua disco, swimfit and diving classes.
Visitors were also able to try taster sessions in Zumba, boxercise and indoor curling through the neighbouring Libery Health Club, which is also operated by the Richmondshire Leisure Trust.
The day also raised more than £300 for three charities: the Meningitis Trust, the Wooden Spoon and Help for Heroes.
A special birthday cake, made by Hawes Cake Craft, was cut by the chairman of Richmondshire District Council, Yvonne Peacock.
Manager Austin Gordon said: "It was an amazing birthday party - the centre was full of smiling faces with everyone having a great day.
"It was the best open event we have ever held at the pool. We are striving to provide better value for money for our customers on every visit they make to the centre."
