THE consecration of the new Bishop of Whitby will take place next week at York Minster.
The Reverend Canon Martin Clive Warner, 51, is taking over the role in succession to the Right Reverend Robert Ladds.
Currently Canon Treasurer of St Paul’s Cathedral in London, he will be consecrated by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu in a service starting at 11am.
The Bishop of Whitby is a suffragan bishop within the Diocese of York. His particular focus of ministry is the Archdeaconry of Cleveland, which includes the area from the Tees to the Vale of Pickering.
*In order to prepare for the service York Minster will be closed to the public throughout the morning and will re-open to visitors at about 3pm. Those attending the 7.30am and 7.45am services should enter via the Chapter House Yard.
