OWNERS of food businesses are being reminded they still have time to attend a special workshop to bring them up to speed with new legislation.
The last of a series of free workshops run by Hambleton District Council takes place next Monday, January 11, and will deal with the rules that require a written food safety management system to be written and maintained.
With funding from the Food Standards Agency, environmental health officers are working with Food Northwest and Direct Food Hygiene on the Safer Food Better Business workshops.
Eight three-hour sessions have taken place already – all of which are followed up by further one-to-one coaching at individual businesses.
"Safer Food Better Business is easy to implement and easy to tailor to individual businesses needs," said head of regulatory services Maurice Cann.
"But business owners need to understand that once this round of free training is over, food safety officers will be serving legal notices on any food business operator found not to be implementing a food safety management system."
The course takes place at the civic centre in Northallerton from 2pm to 5pm. To book – or for more information - contact 0845 1211 555.
