MORE than 1,000 golfers took to the greens in memory of cancer victim Kevin Pearson.
And their efforts raised £3,000 for the complementary therapy service at the Mowbray suite of Northallerton’s Friarage Hospital.
Kevin’s wife Sandra, from Great Ayton, organised the fun event, which has now been running for four years, at Romanby Golf Club.
"We wanted to help to continue the excellent treatment offered to patients. Kevin received a few treatments during his illness, to help him relax and sleep," she said.
"I was also offered some therapies and found this so helpful, I was very stressed at the time and tired and the treatment helped me to unwind and relax."
Complementary therapist Kathryn Almond added: "I am very grateful to Sandra and everyone who joined in the fun on the golf day.
"Thanks to their thoughtfulness and all the hard work they put in future patients will benefit from the treatments we provide and we can continue to offer this popular service."
The suite looks after cancer patients and patients needing medical day case treatment at the hospital helping patients relax and unwind.
Kevin, who died in 2005 of a malignant brain tumour at the age of 53, was an avid golfer and to date over £12,000 has been raised in his memory to help good causes.
