A GOLF day organised by a technology company as a way of bringing some of it’s customers together raised £420 for charity.
Bosses at the 3M site in Northallerton organised the day to help raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance, involving 44 clients from companies across Yorkshire.
Participants raised the cash by challenging the course professional at Romanby Golf and Country Club, Richard Wood, at the 11th hole, raising £210, which was then matched by 3M.
Sarah Booth of the Great North Air Ambulance said it needed to raise some £3.6m a year to operate three helicopters, which regularly fly between three and five emergency missions a day.
"It costs around £2,500 every time the helicopter goes out on a mission," said Ms Booth.
"We don't receive any Government or lottery funding and totally rely on the support of the community to keep the service operating."
