A DANCER who works in the shoe department of a Northallerton store is set to swap on type of footwear for another when she takes the lead in a new show.
Anthea Wyatt, a member of the staff at Barkers of Northallerton, will don her tap shops between October 26-31 to play the female lead in the Northallerton Operatic Society’s production of Gershwin’s Crazy for You.
Ms Wyatt has been dancing since she was seven years old and has joined the rest of the cast to rehearse under professional choreographer Nicola Jenkins.
The play will be performed at the Hambleton Forum and tickets, priced between £5-10, are available from the furniture department of Boyes Stores, in Northallerton, until October 27, or by calling 01609-770936.
