A RICHMOND-based swimming club has reopened following Covid lockdown restrictions boasting top new training facilities.
The Richmond Dales Amateur Swimming Club has installed six new competition diving blocks at one it is bases – Catterick Leisure Centre – thanks to a grant from the district council.
The club received £6,030 from the authority’s Community Investment Fund for its £8,614 scheme to replace the outdated blocks at the pool.
They will be available to club swimmers of all ages and will particularly help disabled swimmers.
It is also hoped the additions will also encourage new club members from across North Yorkshire and the North-East.
Founded in 1976 the club, which uses both the Catterick and Richmond Pools, has around 130 members.
