A YOUNGSTER who tragically lost his dad to cancer has raised hundreds for charity through an overnight trampoline challenge.
Theo Nicholson, 12, decided to sleep overnight on his trampoline to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research in memory of his father, Robin, who died in 2011.
Armed with a sleeping bag, a book and some snacks and water, Theo settled in for the night and raised £600. He said: “I can’t remember my dad that well because I was only three when he died, but I wanted to do something for him.
"Lots of people are raising money for the NHS right now which is great, but other causes aren’t getting as much support as they used to. That’s why I chose Yorkshire Cancer Research.
“I really enjoyed the challenge. The best part was probably the food my mum brought to me while I was on the trampoline. She even came out to me in the middle of the night to bring me some hot chocolate.”
Proud mum Catherine said: "It’s quite something for him to do this for a good cause at such a young age.”
