A COLOUR Run is taking place in Ripon for the first time and is raising money for the Prince’s Trust.
Ripon Colour Dash, which is taking place on Sunday, March 15 at Ripon Grammar School, has been organised by student Araminta Praud, 18, as part of her Extended Project Qualification.
Proceeds are going to the Prince’s Trust, a youth charity that helps young people get into jobs, education and training, which Araminta initially learnt about through school.
Araminta said: “The work they do is really important to me. They help underprivileged young people, people my age, and give them opportunities that I am lucky enough to have.
"I strongly believe that everyone should have the same opportunities, no one should be limited.”
The event is sponsored by Yorkshire-based Harron Homes which has covered the cost of the paint for the finish line photo, resulting in a larger donation to the Prince’s Trust.
The company got involved after Heidi Elliott of Harron Homes saw a post about the event on facebook. She said: “I’m really glad we’re sponsoring the colour run. Some of the Bishop’s Glade team will be going to cheer on the runners; it’s a great cause, and it should be great fun too.”
Limited places are still available at riponcolourdash.onlineweb.shop
