AWARD-WINNING artist Lucy Pittaway has unveiled five new artworks to celebrate the UCI Road World Championships coming to North Yorkshire in September.
The Richmond-based artist has created vibrant and colourful pieces depicting the different races and disciplines within the cycling Championships.
And with Harrogate hosting the race finishes, Ms Pittaway has painted the riders racing through Parliament Street in front of a sea of spectators.
She said: “I am incredibly proud to be able to work with the 2019 UCI Road World Championships to create artwork celebrating cycling in Yorkshire.
"Our wonderful county creates such a colourful, characterful and picturesque backdrop for such an amazing event, it’s so exciting to bring it to life through art.
"Hopefully I have created something that visitors to the event from around the world can take a little piece of Yorkshire home with them.”
When Yorkshire hosts the Championships from September 22 to 29, it will be the 92nd edition of the event and the first time the UK has hosted it since 1982.
