CHILDREN have supported a campaign to help veterans this Christmas by walking a mile as part of a fundraising campaign.
Two of Britain’s leading military charities – Help for Heroes and Walking With The Wounded – have joined forces for this year’s Walking Home for Christmas campaign.
Keen to get involved, pupils at Le Cateau Primary School in Catterick Garrison, dedicated their final 'daily mile' walk to the charity.
With 375 of its near-500 pupils coming from military families, headteacher Ian Mottram said: "A few of our pupils have parents who have been, or are being, supported by Phoenix House Recovery Centre in Catterick so we are aware of the good work done by Help for Heroes."
