A POPULAR charity walk has been declared a ‘glowing’ success as more than 1,000 took to the streets of York in support of St Leonard’s Hospice.
The theme of this year’s Midnight Walk was ‘neon’ and participants fully embraced it with glow sticks and bright tutus aplenty.
Hundreds of people were involved in the 6.5 mile circular walk which began at York College at midnight on Saturday, with the neon ribbon being cut by a team of St Leonard’s Hospice@Home nurses.
Katie Jackson, Hospice events fundraiser, said: “On behalf of everyone at St Leonard’s Hospice I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved with Saturday’s Midnight Walk.”
Sponsorship money is still being collected in and a grand total amount is expected to be over £60,000.
