TWO groups of Swaledale-based musicians are promising to get audiences in the mood for Christmas with an evening of boogie-woogie in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Following a sell-out charity concert in April, Brass n’ Pearls, return to the Buck Hotel in Reeth, on Saturday, December 13.
The group is made up of Five Pearls & A Piano, local close harmony singers, and members of Reeth Brass Band who create a big-band sound.
The concert features the band and Pearls joining together for a lively mix of 50s songs, with each group also performing a selection of pieces from their own repertoires.
The evening will conclude with a line up of festive numbers ensuring everyone will be in the mood for Christmas.
Proceeds from the evening will go to Cancer Research UK, chosen because individuals in both groups have lost close family members and friends to cancer in the last year. In particular the concert will mark the first anniversary of the death of Bob Gale, local councillor and cornet player with Reeth Band.
Tickets for the show are £8 and can be bought directly from the Buck or ring 01748-884210 to pay by debit or credit card. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start
Booking in advance is recommended as the last Brass n’ Pearls concert was a sell out.
