A CHARITY music festival has raised £7,091 for a hospital suite which provides services, ranging from chemotherapy to chronic disease management, and Macmillan nurses.
Organisers of the first Cowtonbury Music Festival, which more than 400 people attended in September, said they were planning to make it an annual event to continue raising money for the causes.
Beth Robinson and Carl Lee, who run the Beeswing Inn, East Cowton, said they had been inspired to stage the event as they wanted to give something back to the suite and Macmillan nurses for the support they gave Miss Robinson's mother, Maureen Robinson throughout her treatment for cancer.
The suite provides daycase treatments to patients from a range of specialities, including oncology, haematology, rheumatology and respiratory.
Miss Robinson said: “We wanted to do something to say thank you to the staff and once we started planning the festival we were blown away with the support we received.
"We cannot thank everyone enough for supporting this event which has resulted in a tremendous amount of money raised for such a worthwhile cause.”
