AUCTIONEERS hope to raise a knockout total for school projects when they auction a glove donated by a boxer who captured world titles in two weight divisions.
The signed David Haye glove and a House of Commons teddy bear donated by Richmond MP William Hague will go under the hammer at an auction of promises to be staged at The Allertonshire School, Northallerton.
The annual event, on Thursday, December 4, at 7pm, has raised around £100,000 for a variety of projects, ranging from furniture to equipment, since being launched nearly 25 years ago.
Other lots include VIP tour tickets to Chester Zoo, donated by former pupil Jamie Christon, who is the zoo's managing director, a chance to help a local farmer at lambing time, a tour of Middlesbrough Football Club’s Riverside Stadium and tickets to The Jorvik Centre, in York.
School governor Linda Maclean, who organises the auction, said: “There are so many good causes looking for donations nowadays that I really appreciate the support we receive to enhance the learning experience at The Allertonshire.
“Last year the auction raised more than £3,000 and we are looking forward to seeing the people who support us every year.”

The school will also hold a community Christmas fair on December 10 at 6.30pm in West Hall for school funds.
