A HEALTH trust, which runs a range of community-based health services across North Yorkshire is asking local people to help shape its future.
The Harrogate trust is holding a by-election for a governor to represent the interests of the people residing across the county.
The trust runs county-wide services that include health visitors and school nurses and is looking for a new governor from outside the Harrogate area.
Chairwoman Sandra Dodson said: “Our governors are an integral part of the trust and ensure that we are accountable to the local community we serve.
“With the Government’s reforms of the NHS, the role of governors has become more important than ever, with additional responsibilities.”
In order to stand or vote in the election, you have to be a Member of the foundation trust. It is free to join and an application form is on the Trust’s website at hdft.nhs.uk or available from 01423-554489 or by emailing the corporate affairs and membership manager at angie.colvin@hdft.nhs.uk
The deadline for nominations is December 3.
