THE hotel services team at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton are celebrating after cleaning up at a recent awards ceremony.
The team took two of the accolades at the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals 2014 awards.
Staff who provide a clean and safe healthcare environment for patients and staff won the “working in partnership” category and Ann Horsfield, Mary Robinson and Susan Sangste, won the supervisor team award.
Clinical matron Claire Pilling nominated the trio as she relies on them to ensure patients are in clean and safe surroundings and said the trio were always approachable, friendly and willing to help solve problems.
The Friarage team received their awards at a gala awards dinner held at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
The Association is the professional association for healthcare cleaning in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Its members are directly involved in managing and delivering cleaning and hygiene services in most NHS and independent hospitals.
Friarage hotel services manager Denise Foster said: “The team at the Friarage are absolutely delighted to have won the awards.
“It’s a tribute to their hard work and effort in ensuring the trust has a high standard, efficient and modern domestic service which provides a safe environment for patient care.”
