TWO teenagers remain in a critical but stable condition in hospital following a crash on a dales road.
The accident took place near Bellerby Camp military ranges in the Yorkshire Dales, on Thursday.
Soldiers on training exercise nearby rushed to the scene after hearing the crash and were able to provide First Aid while three air ambulances and a road ambulance headed to the scene.
The crash involved a black Vauxhall Corsa containing three teenagers from the Masham and Bedale area and a white MINI driven by a woman in her mid-60s at about 3.15pm.
The teenagers all received serious, life-threatening injuries.
The 17-year-old driver of the Corsa was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary and has now been discharged. The two passengers in the car, aged 17 and 18, were airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The female driver of the MINI, who lives in the Leyburn area, was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by road ambulance with minor injuries.
The accident happened at the junction of Moor Road and the unclassified road to Redmire.
North Yorkshire Police wish to hear from anyone who recalls seeing either vehicle prior to the collision.
The Corsa is believed to have driven over Grinton Moor to the crossroads and the white MINI had travelled from Richmond towards Redmire.
Contact police on 101 and ask for Andy Fraser or Martin Mulcaster from the Major Collision Investigation Team.
